Videos, Lunch with the Girls & more Videos

Well what another great week in beautiful Sydney, Australia.

The weather has been fantastic and I have been really busy creating articles and videos as part of my SEO for my website.

Those who follow what I am doing each week will be able to learn what is involved in promoting a new website and learn from my weekly video tips as I go and implement the same strategies into their own business.
And don't worry if you have not got started yet, that's okay I am doing a video series purely for 'newbies' right from scratch!

Firstly, and most importantly lunch with the girls. One of the benefits of owning your own online business is taking time out to 'enjoy life' whenever you feel like it. As you can see we had a bit a fun with the camera. It was such a fabulous afternoon.


I must admit I am a bit of a workaholic when it comes to my online business probably because Hunter has not started school yet and I only get 3 days to work on my business.


But this week the girls twisted my arm and invited me to do lunch so I thought 'why not'.


Well Ingrid, a friend of mine who lives in a beautiful home overlooking the water, spoilt us rotten. We had prawns, scallops, salmon frittatas, gourmet pizza and beautiful champagne to top it off. Wow did I feel like royalty.


So my first tip this week is make sure you enjoy the 'lifestyle choices' that owning an online business affords you. Stop and smell the roses when you get the chance because that is what it is all about.

Back To Work...

But then it was back to work. Now that I have launched my online business it is all about marketing and SEO. There is no point having an online business if noone knows you exist so it is time to get out there and promote yourself.

Below is a list of what I have been doing this week:

Article Directories

• I wrote and uploaded two more articles at www.ezinearticles.com and 5-6 other high ranking article hosting websites
• Those ezinearticle editors are tough cookies and it took me 3 goes to get my article through all the hoops but I got there in the end
• I will be doing a video purely on the tips for getting your articles accepted first time to save you any grief.
• Each week I will be setting aside time to upload 2-3 articles because that is the key to getting links back to your website - how.....because that is where people go to get information for their own websites - article directories. If they find one of your articles and want to promote it they leave all your details in tact, send it out to their readers as part of their ecourse, put it in an ebook or use it as content for the website or blog. All this starts creating links back to your website. The more links, the higher your ranking and the more traffic you get....and it is all FREE - time consuming....but FREE.
• There are lots of different article strategies for those people who don't like to write your own eg Private Label articles are the 'in thing' at the moment where you can get the rights to other people's articles, tweak them and then publish them as your own.
• I am not a big fan of this becuase too many people get the same article and google is aslo not a big fan of it...so don't believe everything you read out their about getting thousands of articles by using this method.
• Does it work, yes, does it save time, heaps if you know what you are doing, but it can also cause you grief if you don't change it enough to not be picked up for 'duplication of content' by google and the article directories.
• If you don't like writing your own articles, and you have a bit of spare cash, there are plenty of people on www.elance.com who will write articles for you and even do the research on the topic if you like. Some will even upload it to all of the article directories for you.

Videos:

• Yes creating your own videos...don't panic if you think editing and filming your own videos is hard don't worry www.elance.com is good for that too or there are probably lots of people who can do it for you locally
• Me, I have been creating my own videos and editing them for a couple of years now so I do it myself.
• Do I get use to seeing myself online without cringing....nope. But then I realise it is not about what I look or sound like, it is about the quality of the information I am providing,
• Plus, and more importantly, google loves videos. You will find that the search engines will start being more populated by video tutorials and infomercials than ebooks over the next 12 months...so watch this space and make sure you do not get left behind.

• Video tutorials are a great way to learn. You get to build a relationship with the actual person you a learning from and watch how they actually do things.
• I am in the middle of creating my own video tutorial series to show you how to do each step of building my own business to help YOU get started quickly and easily in your own online business including:

Surveys:

It is very important when researching a niche and building your own products to find out what it is that your target audience really wants from you. Don't second guess, you can waste a lot of time and money by thinking you know what your customers want when if you had asked them they would have told you.

Today I have spent my time creating a video asking people on my home page to tell me what they want to learn from my video tutorials. A great way to get people to participate in your survey is to give away a free gift.
