Had such a great day had to tell you about it

Well I know I only wrote my first post yesterday whilst setting up my blog but it looked a little bit lonely sitting up there all by itself and I had such a great day I thought I would update you on what I have been doing today.

Well as I said yesterday, getting yourself out there is all part of starting an online business. Trust me when it comes to all this 'Web 2.0' stuff I am definitely way behind the ball game but you know what I do, I just copy what everyone esle is doing.
I must tell you...if you are looking to do a really simple free video course I highly recommend doing Ed Dale's 30 Day Challenge. The information in there is really great for learning everything you need to know for getting started online.

Just when you think you are just getting the hang of one strategy along comes another which I think is why people find this industry so daunting.
My tip is...stick to the basics, get your foundations right first and then worry about all the 'fancy' strategies later. Don't get bogged down with all the hype.
So why am I pretty excited today.

Well I am not sure if you know but there is a new forum that is launching on the 28th October called Online Divas where women all around Australia are supporting other women who want to learn how to start their own online business.

I am one of the Online Divas and I am really excited about helping people learn how to do what I do. But what is really exciting is that people are already coming to visit my website to find out more about me and my coaching programs.

So the key tip today is try and join as many external and online forums and networking opportunities as you can. It is really important when you are starting an online business to get yourself out there otherwise no one will ever find you amongst all the trillions of other websites on the world wide web.

So if you get a chance, go and check me out on Online Divas home page and you can find out more about what Australian Women are doing to create the lifestyle choices that are right for them online.

Now you have to remember that the Online Divas are just launching so like most new businesses they are having to promote their website. Which is another reason why I am telling you to go and visit. Every website that is within the niche that you are looking to target is a learning tool for you.

That is right...the gurus are forever studying what other people are doing who are getting

• great publicity


• high search engine ranking


• a lot of traffic


• and a lot of conversions

They use these websites as a way to get ideas and strategies for improving the performance of their own websites.

So today I noticed that the Online Divas had signed themselves up to all the most popular 'social websites' as it is a great way to get 'online realestate' links back to your website plus network with likeminded people. (You never know when there is a joint venture opportunity lurking in the wings of the people you meet online). I have met some amazing people from around the world who have helped me to build my business purely because they want to help you succeed.

Anyway, I joined the same social websites, created my profile of who I am, what I do and linked back to my blog and my website and what is even better these social networks link up to each other.

Most people think...how do I ever keep up chatting on all these social networks...well these guys have thought of everything. You are pretty much able to link them to each other so that when I write an article on this blog it actually feeds to all the other social networks that I belong to and keeps them updated on what I am doing. That is fantastic.

So quick overview of what I have done so far

1. Set myself targets and goals that I want to achieve in the next 12 mths


2. Split those targets into monthly targets, weekly and daily targets


3. Went and did my market research using the market samurai tool to find my two keyword for the home page of my website and the other keywords for the remaining sub pages of my website


4. Wrote an ebook to sell as a product online


5. Created a blueprint of my business including all the affiliate products and backend products that I am going to sell from my website


6. Creating and opt-in page to be able to capture names of visitors who come to my website so that I can market to them ongoing over a period of time


7. Joined the Online Divas to help promote my business and also teach other women how to get started in their own online business


8. Created my first 'how to' tutorial and posted it on You Tube as another way to market my new business - I will be posting lots more


9. Started creating an audio version of my ebook so that people can purchase the audio as well as the download - (makes 2 products to sell online)


10. Created a Squidoo Page to also drive traffic to my new website


11. Then yesterday I created this blog....phew I have been busy

Now don't get overwhelmed by this list. Remember this is not my first website, I have built quite a few over the last 3 years so I can now do all this stuff very quickly. What I am showing you is some of the traffic generating tips to getting people to find you on the web and get your website crawled by the search engines.

I heard it can take up to 6 weeks and sometimes longer to get a new site found by google...but when you download Brad Callen's free ebooks from my website he will tell you how to get found in just a couple of days. I was a bit sceptical but I gave it a go with this new website and he was right. Google found me within 3 days, crawled my website and I was on the directory straight away.

This one tip saved me so much time and effort and lost revenue. I have been live for only 10 days I have already made my first sale and I am starting to build traffic to my website. So I am telling you these strategies work which is why I am sharing them with you today.
